The oil spill happened in the gulf of Mexico. Many people were involved such as in Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida coastal areas are in danger of there area getting flooded with oil. This happened because the platform broke and 4.2 million gallons of oil went into the gulf of Mexico in 2010. Animals were getting covered in oil such as birds, turtles, and fish. There where a couple organizations helping fix the problem. The organizations were the Abundan Society, Alabama Coastal Foundation, Mobile Bay National Estuary Program, and United Way. The solution to the oil spill was Plugging the oil source. The oil spill was tragic for some animals and scary for many people.
