A Hero Among Us

Risking his life for the life a child he did not even know put a smile on many peoples faces. A 5-year-old child was trapped inside a burning car after an accident and thankfully there was a police officer/petty officer there to save the day. He rescued the little girl from the car and took her to a near by hospital. Very many people are thanking him for what he did and being so brave. Even though there was another person in the car who did not make it, the family is extremely happy she did. The man is being recognized for his bravery and good deed. We can all say we are thankful for having a man like him in our world.

Wedding Band saves lives

Donnie Register has a new reason to be thankful to be married. In Jackson, Mississippi at his store was a good day costumers by loads. One customer was trouble; the customer wanted to look at the coin collection but pulled out a handgun to Donnie’s face. The robber told Donnie to put the money from the register into a bag. The other customers in the antique store ran out the door. One called the police. Sirens were heard from miles away. The robber shot a bullet. Donnie threw up his left hand and the wedding ring on his finger deflected the bullet and saved him and his store. I think this was a good deed because his ring saved the store and his future life because that’s how Donnie makes money for his family.

ANIMAL RESCUE CENTER

In the state of Colorado, local veterinarians incorporated the Colorado Animal Rescue Center. In 1992 is when this great establishment went into play, for saving animals. All of the animal lovers tend to donate a lot of their own money to help shelter and take care of all the animals. Not only do they donate money, but they donate time too, many people volunteer. The staff at the Animal Rescue Center provide care and education for all of the abandoned and homeless animals. I think that the idea of sheltering and taking in stray animals is a great way to save the animals of the world.

Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital is the place I am going to choose to blog about, the reason I am blogging about this is because, they do, in my opinion, the best out of everything I looked at. A few things they do is help injured animals, they are the one of the leading animal hospitals in the Jefferson county district. Another thing I thought was really good for them to do is they take in abused and homeless animals and adopt them out. The animal hospital doesn’t believe putting animals down, that can’t be adopted out, if they have no luck they will take it to a dog ranch and let them live the rest of the dogs life there. They also do this with cats, birds, reptiles, etc. They go by the motto of “an animal life is as perishes as a human life…” So This is why I think the animal hospital is the best thing I researched out of everything.

I’m writing about habitat for humanity a place were people help the homeless. Have good people and kindhearted followers to help the people. The habitat for humanity is doing good for all the homeless around the world. It benefits the people that are homeless and live on the street that lost their home. The Table Mountain Center is a great organization for the pets in our world. This organization reunites pets with their families. If a pet is lost then the Table Mountain Animal Center will hang up signs for your lost pet in their building. They also adopt stray or abandoned animals into loving homes. There are many animals in our world that either have no homes or had homes until their family left them to fend for themselves. That is when the organization takes the animals in and cares for them until a new family adopts them. The way this organization pays for the supplies they need to care for the animals they take in is donations and a small adoption fee. I believe that the Table Mountain Animal Center is a great place for animals to stay until they are taken home.

WWF is World Wildlife Foundation. They are the ones who protect endangered animals all around the world. Right now they are trying to protect the 24 rhinos that are left in the world. The WWF is raising money to make safe zone, and they are also trying to stop hunters from kill rhinos. Rhinos are usually hunted for there heads and horns. A rhino head is wroth a lot of money. KIND program

KIND stands for kids in need of dentistry. This program helps kids from all over the world get dental care. Families who have low income but are working and don’t have dental care this program gives kids dental care. So far throughout Denver metro they have served over 4,000 kids annually. A kind mobile dental clinic travels over the western slope as well serving over 1,000 children annually. This program helps kids from all over and I think this program is great because kids need dental care. Especially because kids want to have a beautiful smile!!!!

There success is because of their ability to work in harmony with other organizations such as Defenders of wildlife, Humane Society,and America SPCA. This organization has been non-profit since 1972. Originally they were trying to end dolphin killings but in 1979 they changed their course then began to help endangered spieces worldwide. Sam Labudde a biologist whent on a mission to obtain video on dolphins being killed for purse seine tuna. Honestly I belive that their course of rescue is admirable

Arvada Fire Fighters

I was really impressed by the Arvada Fire Fighters for saving 22 out of 25 dogs from a fire. The fire started around 8 am at the Best Friends pet kennel in Wheat Ridge. Twelve dogs were taken to Wheat Ridge animal hospital. Ten other dogs were placed in another kennel on the property. Fire Fighter Steve Smith revived one of the dogs with his air tank mask. The Arvada Fire Fighters are definitely hero’s.

In Falluja, Iraq, on October 13 2006,14 year old Mohammed Rasoul was sitting on the sidewalk when a car bomb on his street went off. The bomb had killed his younger cousin and had also blown off his right leg. He later visited the U.S. and got a prosthetic leg. Going back to Iraq was the worst day of his life. He is out-growing the prosthetic leg and is soon planning to go back to the U.S. to get a new one. His mom said before she visited America the only America she new was the one who destroyed their homes and life, but when she actually visited America she saw everyone treating each other with kindness and humanity.

The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. They give toys for underprivileged children. They are giving more than just toys to the kids; they give inspiration and hope to the family. They do an amazing job that is valued by hundreds of thousands of people. They also have a “Toys for Tots literacy program”, which teaches the child how to read or write. They teach these reading skills by donating a gift to the family. They donate gifts and toys to kids all over the United States. The charity that’s my favorite is the American Cancer Society. This is my favorite charity because like a few people I know what it’s like to lose some one to cancer like my grandpa Eli.
