    The gulf oil spill was a national tragedy. A oil platform broke and oil spilled in to the gulf of Mexico.
The citizens volunteered to try to clean up the oil. They took boats around and cleaned it up the oil.
B P oil company is blamed for it because they owned the platform. A lot of animals were affected in the oil.Birds couldn't fly and fish died.
I think the oil spill could have been prevented if the oil platform was better built and if the crew is better prepared.
