Tripoli, Libya's zoo animals are suffering from no food or water. This happened back in August 31, 2011. Ten of the two hundred staff have returned to help the poor starving animals. Its happening because because of the war, the animals have been forgotten about. I think that people should start helping the animals by caring for them. Right now there's a civil war in Somalia and there is a famine at the same time. Right now the peace keepers have said they are winning and have scored another critical victory, a bomb shelter. The peace keepers have also said that they are not just fighting Somalis but some alternate soldiers.

In the tripoli zoo animals have no water just because a war is going on.
Although the whole entire staff was trying to help the staff couldn't do much. All of the animals do not have food and water and are skinny enough to see their bones.
The hippos do not have any clean water and ae suffering because they aren't able to swim. My personal opinion is that people can maybe donate water and get some vets for the animals to make sure they are not really sick.
The places that were nice t help were IFAW, World Vets, and WSPA. They are donating money and they are giving supplies to help animals.

There is hunger all over the world! People around the world are not getting fed. Also people are not getting enough nutrition. It is happening because you can't get a job , the economy goes down or you get fired, and you have no money for food. In Africa there are to many people for the amount of food that they can produce. Somalia is located in East Africa, Somalians are starving because of lack of food and water caused by the devastating drought. On July 30,2011 the drought had just begun and the people started fight for the resources they need. By August 1, 2011 they started to build relief centers all over the region of Somalia and importing food and clean water for the people of Somalia.The drought is causing the chaos all over this region. The Red Cross, The United Nations, The U.N. Humanitarian CO., and Action Against Hunger are all trying to make fundraisers for the Somalians. Nic Roberston reported that only 10 zoo keepers come here everyday when there's really suppost to be 200 workers there. CNN reports that most of the animals are extremely skinny and don't have water or food. One zoo keepers said that the animals haven't had food or water in 7 days. (ZOO ANIMAL NEWS) LIBYA — Soon after the Tripoli zoo was abandoned in late August, the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) went to Libya to begin relief efforts. According to IFAW Communications Officer Mike Booth, “Since IFAW and other groups intervened, the relief efforts have guaranteed that the animals received the care, food, and water they needed for the past two months.”A team of animal-welfare experts from Austria's Four Paws International gently rolls the tiger over and Dr. Amir Khalil, dripping sweat, searches for a vein, then puts in an IV drip to give the animal vitaminsAsked why the tiger is so sick, the veterinarian replies, "Honestly, we don't know but I believe he's old, 21 years. That's number one. Number two, it was a lot of stress in the surroundings here."

During the struggle for Tripoli, gunfire raged just outside the zoo. When the fighting was at its height some Libyans packed up their cars and fled. World hunger is a very real problem in many countries around the world. It is happening now even though the world produces enough food to feed every human being. People, especially children go hungry when they or their family can't make enough money to buy food for their family. People and organizations around the world are trying to help these poor people by getting them food. An organization called The Empty Bowls Project holds events where pottery is donated by local artists and the visitors get the bowl their food was served in as a way to get people to be aware of world hunger. Other organizations that help are food banks that take in food and distribute it to the hungry people. During the war in Tripoli, a zoo was left alone, the animals were left to survive on their own. The animals were left for 7 days with no food and hardly any water. When a zookeeper returned it was almost to late for many of the zoo animals. Soon 10 of the 200 person staff returned during the war to help the animals. A group of experts from the Austria Four Paws International Zoos came to help the animals. By the time they came it was already to late for one of the tigers. Due to the war the animals only got half of the food they needed and hardly got any water because of the hot weather.

After a few weeks of suffering the animals got many people to send funds for food and medicine:

The problem is there are floods in Thailand. Thailand is getting taken over by floods. Everyone in Thailand is being affected by this. This problem is current. This flooding is being caused by monsoon rains and swollen rivers has ravaged Thailand. You can make a donation and help pay for emergency kits, mosquito nets, and even food. International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies is helping with this problem. They are donating many things, such as emergency kits, mosquito nets, and food. Areas in the north and east of city of 12 million were submerged in filthy water, turning homes into swimming pools and main roads into rivers plied by makeshift rafts and boats. All around the world, people are suffering from lack of food in their town or home. Our population is growing and that is causing the amount of food to drop drastically. Many groups and projects are trying to solve this problem one step at a time. These groups and projects are:The #AfricaNeedsYou project, The Empty Bowl project, Oxame, Feed the Children, Canstruction project, and The World Food Programme. To help this serious crisis, you could donate canned food or even your labor to help children,adults, and elders around the world. Or, if you wanted to help, projects like the Canstruction project, are holding contests to evoke people into donating food. Basically people build sculptures made out of canned food and donate it to people in need. Others are raising money and taking in donations. One step at a time, we could end world hunger. I bet a few of us have canned food that we don't even like or use in the back of our fridge or pantries, people could use those to thrive and live.

In East Africa there's a scarce of food, water, and shelters.

This is taking place in the following affected places: Southern Somalia, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Djibouti.

The people involved in this life threatening event are Children, Women, Men and families.

The problem is that there is no food, water, and shelters' for many families, and women/men. Also nearly half a million children are at risk of dying from malnutrition and disease.

the war in Afghanistan has caused a Major indent in peoples lives and especially kids, they work on the streets and try to support their siblings and u never know they might even have seven!!! Skateistan is a place for those kids that do have to work on the streets and support a family to get hooked on doing something you love. but its not all skateboarding That includes art classes, English lessons, a girls' journalism course, a disabled class and a critical "Back to School" program to help children from impoverished families enroll or re-enroll into public schools.Skateistan started up in 2007 when two Australian skateboarders realized the children's enthusiasm and curiosity as they cruised around Kabul.Two years later, they were able to construct a state of the art skate park and educational facility, serving more than 300 boys and girls a week."Before I came to Skateistan, I used to think that I wouldn't be able to do anything with my future," says Fourteen-year-old Fazila. "But now I think I will become the best skateboarder." this is recent and no joke it all started as a group of grownups that wanted to get kids that live in a place with war

Hurricane Irene

On August 21, 2011 Hurricane Irene hit the East Coast. The Hurricane hit as far as New England to Florida, some of the worst struck states were Vermont, New Jersey, and upstate New York. The storm killed over 43 people. The East coast was ruined. People are with out power and shelter because of the flooding. We all wanted to stop this hurricane but we couldn't. There are a few organizations helping such as Red Cross and Islamic Relief USA. The Red Cross provided about 54,000 overnight shelters and the Islamic Relief USA sent to teams of volunteers too help the shelters in New Jersey. What we can do is help shelters, make donations and donate things.

Japan's Tsunami is a big issue. Japan had a 9.8 hurricane on March 11,2011hat turned into a tsunami that caused a nuclear explosion. Thanks to New York for having a Japan day to help raise money to help Japan rebuild. Also thank you to the Salvation Army for helping the Japanese that don't have a shelter and taking them to find a suitable shelter. People are also donating money to help Japan rebuild.

10 year-old Suffers Dead Father

10-year-old Braydon Nichols is just a normal boy with a mother and a father. Well, all that changed when his dad went to Afghanistan to fight for his country. Braydon's dad, Brian Nichols, was the pilot of the Chinook in the Navy SEALs latest rescue mission. Eventually it was shot down and Brian died. When Braydon found out that his father didn't make it through he couldn't help but bawl. But then he wanted to do something about it. So he went to iReport and blogged about his dad. He then went to CNN to ask for his dad's picture to be on there show. Both iReport and CNN were glad to support his father in this tragic story.

Pit bulls and Parolees is a television show on Animal Planet about a woman named Tia, who runs a pit bull rescue center called Villalobos Rescue Center. Villalobos Rescue Center and Tia doesn't only rescue pit bulls, it also rescues parolees (people on parole). Tia was on the wrong side of the law for a long time, and when she got out she experienced how difficult it was to find work because people thought that if someone was on parole, they were bad and always would be. However, Tia knows differently, she knows that parolees can work just as hard and just as well as any person who isn't on parole, and chances are, they'll be so grateful for having work, they'll hardly miss a day. The purpose of Villalobos isn't just to save pit bulls, it's to save parolees from going back to a life of crime to survive, too. What Tia and her team does is take in abandoned, abused, or unwanted pit bulls when they have no where else to go, and nursing them back to health. Villalobos is also very careful about who they adopt their pit bulls out to, checking the house in which the dog will be living, and making sure it's fit. They do this even if the house is in a state half way across the country! Villalobos Rescue Center is an amazing place, created by an even more amazing woman, who wants nothing more then a better life for the world's pit bulls and the world's once-bad people with the desire to change.

There's many horrible stories in America and this is one of them. They're is evil people out there and some of them are turning young little girls into prostitutes. It's happening every time of the day, and ALL around America. Many people can help these young girls! These poor young girls don't get to have the opportunity to have a normal childhood like others get to have. Thank goodness there are people and organizations that want to stop this, for example Living Water for Girls. They're helping them out and letting them have a regular childhood like they never got. I can tell churches and people to help them get off the streets, but really people ALL OVER can help them!

Japan 10,000 people died in the earthquake in 2011. The giant waves deluge cities rural areas cased the tsunami in Japan. The American Cross are helping Japan by providing donated cloths or shoes. The earthquake cased flooded streets and cars under water.

He walks back & forth without fault. It is August 27th, 2011, & a lone soldier with bravery, courage, & respect guards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Marriage before 18

In America girls are married off as late as 40 but in other countries this is not the case. Such as India. Getting married early is a tradition.
So that’s why children over there are getting married as early as nine. Well, in India this is very common. Children from ages ten to eighteen are getting married when they are still in school. In fact woman named Pulmati Devi was married at ten years old. To defy tradition is almost a crime and very few remain single during there teen age years. But a girl named Rekha Kumari did just that. How? She was found by a organization called PathFinder. There mission is to teach girls about reproductive organs and marriage. PathFinder has helped over a hundred nations with this issue. Anyway her mother agreed to let her not get married as long as she could pay for her studies. Rekha Kumari agreed to this and now tutors twenty kids in her village and gets payed ten dollars a month which has payed for her studies. Rakha Kumari wishes when she graduates she wants to teach girls about reproductive organs and marriage just like Pathfinder taught her. But more and more are staying single but this is still an issue all over the world.

So many people are helping clean up the mess that the tsunami that caused, and they are scrambling to find all the missing people, and they are getting themfood and shelter, medics and more. Japan get the power from 5 nuclear power plants and on monday Mach 14, 2011 2 of the nuclear power plant blow up and made more problems for the people of Japan. They can not be with in 100 feet of the power plant. So many men, women and kids are trappedand can not get away ,and to make that even harder Japan is under water. Libya's Big Change

Libya is trying to boot out of the leader chair after 40 years, but he will not leave without a fight so he is being a pest and killing everyone. Actually he is not doing it he makes the arm find little kids (ages low as 5 years old) and is forcing guns into little kids hands and making them kill their families. There are organizations helping like the Red Crescent. The Red Crescent is helping by getting people out of Libya and in to camps.

In Japan, there was a 8.9 earthquake, that caused a tsunami on the north west coast. Right now the tsunami and earthquake have even caused a nuclear plant to explode sending out radiation. The death count is at about 10,000 people from all these disasters. American and Japanese soldiers were sent to find survivors, around 2,000 survivors were uncovered from all this mess. After the disaster, it left thousands homeless and fighting to survive without any supplies. Due to the fact that everything they own was destroyed in the tsunami and earthquake. I have even heard that there is a volcano that is all most ready to erupt. Plus the Nuclear Power Plants damaged from all the things that have been happening lately. Japan is a country with very little resources so they use Nuclear power for every thing with all of the 55 Nuclear reactors in Japan.

The oil spill takes place in the gulf of Mexico ,off the southwest tip of Luisiana.Everyone is trying to help make the oil disapeer and doing many things to help. The BP brothers were mainly involved in the oil spill they were the cause of all this disaster.The main problem is that theres oil all over the ocean. To be exact it all began april 20,2010.The oil spill started after a gas explosion on a offshore oil drilling platform from a gas pocket. What can be done is that we can use nuclear blasts to successfully seal off runaway gas wells, inserting a bomb deep underground and letting its fiery heat melt the surrounding rock to shut off the flow. Collecting 80% of fines from the largest oil spill in U.S. history for Gulf Coast restoration but , Congress will have to pass legislation to make it happen.What organizations are helping? The BP, CNN, Coaliton to Restore Costal Luisiana, National Park Foundation's Disaster Recovery Fund but, we can all help. Wat are they doing to help?..Transocean hired around 600 employees both on and offshore who are involved in ending the spill, he says, but declined to say if BP would also be responsible for compensating those employees. they are trying their best but people are getting sick by, going down with nausea, severe headaches, and breathing problems after working in waters contaminated by the nation's worst oil spill. Although we can all help by donating money for all the affected animal only few of us are helping.

Haiti one year later

Haiti is still struggling one year later from the disaster. The south side of Haiti was hit by a whooping 7.0! It killed over 200,000 and still counting, and many people were injured. The Earth quake crushed everything including houses, cars, buildings, and most everything else. The plates shifted under Haiti that's what forced the ground to shake and rumble so hard and much. They are still looking for help they need food, clean water, tents, medical help, clothes and anything else that would help, you could also help by donating to the Red Cross or Can Do or a local organizations. You could even volunteer and help re-build houses, help the orphans and bring food and water. Can you believe that this was all in the year of 2010! Oil spill on the gulf

The oil spill is located around the Louisiana Gulf.
Any one can voulenter to clean off all of the oily pelicans and save their lives.
Currently the oil spill has been acting up and it is affecting the pelicans
and us humans,the oil spill is causing us bad trouble.
The oil just started to pour out and keep on spilling and spilling and all that can be done is to keep raising money so they can clean the animals.
The two organizations that are helping are The international bird rescue research center The Tri-state bird rescue.

This is one reason that the oil spill is bad.It kills the pelicans and other birds.

Wes Leonard collapsed and died after shooting a 20 point basketball shoot on

a Thursday. I’m not sure what can be done. But what can done is having professional doctors to find out how he died. Dr.David A. Start, the Ottawa County chief medical examiner said Leonard died of cardiac arrest due to an enlarged heart. The autopsy revealed his enlarged heart. ’Wes was a great athlete, he never ran his mouth like most people do. It was always fun to play basketball with him,’ said Craig Peterson. When he died, he was only 17 years old, he was a junior at Fennville High School, and he died during overtime. His parents had his funeral on Sunday, and hundreds of people were filed by the casket to say their goodbyes. R.I.P Wes Leonard!
